For safety and out of respect, if you encounter a horseback rider stop and step off the trail until they have passed. There is an active ranch on the map that leads horseback rides in the park. There is a decent network of trails in the park, but the farther east you get from the ranch and camping areas the more indistinct the trails become. While there isn’t too much cholla cacti, there is plenty of other thorny vegetation (white thorn and cat’s claw acacia) so long sleeve shirts and long pants with gaiters are highly recommended. So as a general rule, the sides of the bigger reentrants / washes usually have areas of thicker vegetation. We are located within Colossal Cave Mountain Park.
